~ Me ~

With over a decade of teaching experience since 2009, including 4 years of online piano instruction, Ying-Hua is deeply passionate about music and dedicated to connecting with students worldwide. Through interactive online piano courses, she strives to foster a deep appreciation for music and inspire students to explore their musical talents.

Formerly Yangon-based (2015-2021) Taiwanese pianist Ying-Hua Huang collaborates with a wide range of musicians in various genres. She landed in Myanmar in 2015 and had been teaching and helping local Western music schools and institutes.

Given the particular historical background bringing on a harsh environment for learning and sparkling western music in Myanmar, with the support of music lovers, friends, and students, she was organizing annual teacher-student recitals and themed music salon series, and founded the Myanmar Musician League (MML) and started a non-profit annual music festival and competition.

Ying-Hua participated in charitable musical events alongside her students and traditional musicians. To raise more awareness of the circumstances in Myanmar, she also gave several lectures in Taiwan and became an occasional contributor on Myanmar issues for The News Lens, a Taiwanese online news outlet. Nonetheless, Ying-Hua diverse journey in Myanmar ended in April 2021, two months after the February coup d’état.

Tinged by multifarious experiences and activities hither and yon with students spanning the ages and coming from different backgrounds and continents,  gives her a rather colorful spectrum. During her six-year stay, receiving questions from unfamiliar perspective, caused Ying-Hua to re-evaluate Taiwan’s musical evolution and present state. With a new movement, this will be a site of exploration and to be continued.
